It was SEW exciting...

We had a special visit from Zac's Nina this afternoon!  Nina came and read us a story that she and Zac chose.  The children also had the opportunity to personally thank her for making all of the wonderful reading bags for our class.  Some of them told her which bag was their favorite and asked her how she comes up with ideas to make all of the different bags.  She also surprised the children by bringing them bags of their very own!  We are going to decorate the bags as a project and then the bags will come home!  WOW!  What an afternoon of surprises:)
It's a bird...It's a plane...It's Zac's Nina!!!
* If your child is not in the picture, he/she was either absent or cooking with Max's dad!

We enjoyed listening to her read to us!

Friday Cooking

A BIG thank you goes to Max's dad for coming to our classroom this afternoon for cooking.  Our cooking friends made Spring Birds' Nests for all of us to enjoy!  We LOVE our cooking volunteers!  Thank you!!!

Trip Journals

Please email me at egrin@egrps.org if your child would like a trip journal for our upcoming spring break.  Many children have asked me to make one for them.  Other classmates have had trip journals when they have missed multiple days of school and then have shared their journal with the class when they returned to school.  The children have really enjoyed this opportunity to share.  If you would like a journal, please let me know:)

and enjoyed counting out Bunny Munny!  We had $4.11 in Bunny Munny!!!

We braved the cold weather and walked to the
East Grand Rapids Public Library for our visit!

 We toured the library!

We know exactly where to return our books so that they are not late.

Miss Morgan shared some wonderful stories and finger plays with us:)

Miss Morgan showed us how to check out books from our library.
She even showed us how to print a receipt so we know which
books we checked out and when they are due back to the library.

We eagerly anticipated Zero's visit today!
One friend thought he might have been out saving
people and that is why he came in the afternoon:)

The children had to guess which color gumball would come out of the gumball machine.  If you guessed the correct color, you got ANOTHER turn.  This friend guessed correctly and got 2 TURNS!!!

Everyone waited patiently to guess the gumball color!
Needless to say, everyone enjoyed their gumball:)

Last Minute Art Gala Details...

Our Kindergarten Art Gala is tomorrow night, March 5th, in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center at the high school. Our paintings are finished and the kids are very excited! Feel free to invite family and friends to this great night. The event will be open house style from 6:00-7:30 so come at whatever time works for your family and stay as long as you would like.

We have talked a lot about how this is a “fancy” event and are encouraging the kids (and adults too) to dress “fancy” the evening of the art gala.

On the night of the Art Gala please make sure to have your family picture taken at the photo area, find me to take a picture of your child and their artwork, and have your child sign a picture matte.  This matte will be found on our designated class table.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help with set-up/clean-up and sent in food items. We could not do it without your help. Also, a special thanks to Lauren’s mom and Olivia’s mom for their help in organizing this event.

If you volunteered to bring in a food item or water, please make sure to drop it off at Lakeside tomorrow before the end of the school day.

See you tomorrow night!
